This Is the Diary of A Girl

Points of view on a very controversial issue

Tuesday, Jul. 30, 2002 @ 23:45

This is a pretty new topic for me, but I'm willing to share my points of view on this touchy subject. :

Abortion is still very controversial here, wheather it should be legal or illegal. Almost every Cchristian is against it because they believe that god has a plan for everyone. But why confide in someone who we don't even know existed. Others say keep your legs closed untill your mature enough to conceive a child. Yes, these statements are very powerful. But I believe that abortion should be legal, because look, females who want to or need to have an abortion is up to their discretion, not the churche's decision. And who was to say that women would keep having abortions after having sex. After all, abortion has it's after effects on the body. And besides, who doesn't know the risks of having sex? And if there is an unwanted pregnancy, then there should be the write to an abortion. Yeah sure, aborting does prevent maybe the next president or doctor who discovers a cure for any harmful diseases. But maybe this person grows up and wants to have an abortion too. Haven't you thought of that? An unwanted baby that has been aborted, not killed was for a reason. Having an abortion is very different from murder - one involving more medical care, one having higher consiquences, and one in the best interests of the mother. And for same sex couples, maybe, there is an advantage, less children. But we are not all attracted to the same sex, so another reason for abortion. For the people who are against abortion, then don't have one! If your unable to have children, then why not adopt a child from another less fortunate, poorer country? So they could have a better life. Just look at how our society would be if aborting was illegal, poorer society, too many unwanted neglected children, and parading around - same sex couples for fear of having unwanted children. Do we want this? No, I didn't think so, so then, make it legal for women to have a choice. After all, you and me were the chosen ones, right?

Miss these?
